About Me
Once upon a time there was a young girl, born in the small, southern city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She had no siblings, no not a one, and so she played by herself, creating imaginary worlds with her stuffed animals, toys, and a bit of magic. How she loved those whimsical worlds!Growing up, she maintained a focused yet flexible schedule homeschooling, and enjoying hobbies such as horse-back riding, photography, and playing gritty FPS shooters such as Call of Duty or Battlefield. She loved fast-paced, team-oriented gaming, and the thrill of besting her friends and enemies alike. But when she was alone, she kept her eyes peeled for any fairies or dragons that might be hiding in the shadows. She was inspired by magical films like Frozen 1 & 2, Inside Out, but mostly, the How to Train Your Dragon franchise!Time passed, and as the young girl grew further, responsibility beckoned for her to put down her fictional worlds and video games and move on to more practical pursuits, like zoology or nursing. This led her through Chattanooga State Community college with an AS degree, and from there to studies abroad in magical lands such as Scotland, Italy, and Austria, offering her a new perspective found in different cultures of our world. And when she had rounded the globe and come back home again, she found herself filling out applications to places where she knew she did not belong. But one day, while she was working, she spied a dragon out the window, calling her. A practical girl might have shuttered that window and gone about her work, but this was no ordinary lass. She threw down her pen, and followed it.She set out to pursue her original ambitions in animation at Southern Adventist University where she graduated in 2020 with a BFA in Effects Animation, with honors, I might add.And when she was done, she was hired by a fantastic studio where she brought the amazing worlds of her childhood to life and she lived happily ever after! (Well, that part is still in the works…. Hire me, and make it happen!)

Artist Statement
Whether it's a fire-breathing dragon, or waves washing up on the shore, or hair blowing in the wind, I am captivated by visual effects. Films, games, or commercials, they stand out, and make whatever they are affecting feel alive and believable in their environment. I love movies like How To Train Your Dragon, Frozen, or Inside Out that are able to transport the viewer into incredibly detailed new worlds that still feels grounded in reality somehow. Through VFX I can go beyond the boundaries of reality in unique ways to balance my love for fantasy and realism, which is what I am striving for in my creations. I seek to make things look natural and realistic in their respective worlds. I like to pair visuals to music or sounds that communicate ideas or feelings. But most importantly, I want to be a light that points to the Creator in whatever I do. To me, effects are magical, and I want others to experience that sense of energy and emotion from my work.
